PUPILS learnt about an important aspect of rural village life when they spent the afternoon with a thatcher.
Northill Lower School’s Year 3 and 4 Leopard class watched third generation thatcher, Chris Dodson, at work on a house in Northill and learnt about thatching techniques.
Teacher, Christine Hawkes, said: “We are studying investigating local history and the thatching was a one off. It was just lovely and we had a beautiful day. The children were all fascinated and they were impressed by how hard he had to work.”
