MUSICALLY gifted students will be performing in an Olympic themed concert.

The show, which will be held at Samuel Whitbread Community College in Clifton on Tuesday, March 27, has been organised by the former Bedfordshire Music Service, now known as Inspiring Music.

Children from many different schools across the county will take part by playing woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.

The pieces will be inspired by sport and the Olympics.

Councillor Mark Versallion, executive member for children’s services at Central Beds Council, said: “The Olympics games are more than just sporting excellence. They uphold the values of respect and fair play.

“These musical events are a unique celebration of the Olympic spirit. They are about how to give your best, on the field of play, or in life, taking part and friendship.”

The older and more experienced students will mentor the younger children and help to organise the event.

The concert will start at 6.30pm and end at 7.15pm.

Entry is free.
