AN online reuse group has been created for people to give away their unwanted property and pick up other items for free.
Freegle is a national project that unites old household items with the people who want them. The St Neots, Sandy and Biggleswade group has just been launched.
Teresa Cole from Sandy, who owns the new group, said: “There are reuse groups in Bedford, Letchworth and Stevenage but there wasn’t one that covered St Neots, Sandy and Biggleswade so people had to drive 10 miles to collect things.”
Anyone can join Freegle. All you need to do is visit http://freegle.in/stneots to see what other people are asking for or offering.
You can list any item, so long as it is legal, appropriate and free.
There are no loans, swaps or sale but just free gifts from the people living in your area.
The aim is to help other people in the local community while saving items from going to the landfill site unnecessarily.
