I am: Zoe Geaves, 27, of Friars Walk in Sandy
Event: Charity bike ride from Newport-on-Tay, Fifie to St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger. I will cycle the 550 miles between Friday, May 2 and Monday, May 5. We are also holding a charity football match and a fete at The Bell in Sandy on May 5.
What the event entails: A team of 6 will cycle from Newport-on-Tay on May 2 to St John’s Hospice on May 5. Some of Mathew’s friends will then take part in a football match on May 5 in the morning followed by a fun day at The Bell at noon. We will have a bouncy castle, face painting, a cake stall and a raffle. We will also hold an auction; this includes a signed Manchester United shirt.
Charity: St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger
Why have you chosen this charity? My husband, Mathew Geaves, sadly passed away on May 3 2013 whilst being cared for by St John’s Hospice.
He suffered for three years with a brain tumour. He leaves behind his four-year-old son, Joshua, and a devastated family.
Financial target: £2,000
How are you preparing for the event? Trying to cycle every day and contacting local companies for raffle/auction prizes.
How can people support you? If anyone can donate anything, big or small, towards the raffle or auction then please get in contact with me.
We also have a Justgiving page at www.justgiving.com/zoegeaves if you wish to donate and a Facebook page that will be updated on our progress during the event at www.facebook.com/pages/Just-a-little-bike-ride
Any other interesting information: the bike ride from Newport-on-Tay to St John’s Hospice is significant as it will be the first place Mathew and I met to the last.
