COULD you be a snow angel?
It may be much warmer than in previous years but the inhabitants of three villages will be prepared for snow. A Community Snow Angels scheme has been set up in Wyboston, Colesden and Chawston, which will ensure that it will be business as usual if the weather worsens.
Drivers of 4x4 vehicles are needed to join the scheme as their cars will work best in the ice and snow.
These volunteers will be available if the snow falls and local residents need help. It could be anything from getting them to a doctor’s appointment at a local hospital to picking up and delivering a pint of milk and a loaf of bread.
Anyone who does not own a 4x4 can volunteer to clear footpaths of snow.
If you can be a snow angel or if you may need help during the bad weather then phone Mark and Val Howson, who are co-ordinating the project, on 01480 210383 or email vhowson62@aol.com
In Sandy the Diamond Jubilee Community Volunteer Task Force is also on hand to clear snow. If you are over 60, struggle to get out in the snow and need your path clearing then call project co-ordinator Ken Lynch on 01767 681739.
