STOP speeding motorists on your local roads by becoming a speed deterrent.
Members of the Sandy Community Safety Group and other interested locals are being trained to monitor vehicle speeds in and around Sandy.
As part of Bedfordshire Police’s Speed Watch programme members of the community will be given the opportunity to monitor how fast cars are going.
They will then send the registration numbers of speeding vehicles to the police.
The police will write warning letters to the offenders although they will not issue speeding tickets.
Speed Watch training will take place on roads near to Quince Court, off Engayne Avenue in Sandy on Tuesday (June 26) from 7pm.
Anyone who is interested can just join the group at Quince Court or contact Sergeant Gary Kydd in advance via the non-emergency police number, 101.
