MAJESTIC ravens are raising a family in a nature reserve’s recently restored heathland.
The bird, which is famous for being an icon of the Tower of London, is a very rare breeding bird in Bedfordshire.
There have been only four known pairs in the county in the last century.
Mark Brandon, RSPB visitor and publicity officer at The Lodge, said: “We have spent a number of years making sure that the heathland here is restored and suitable for birds like woodlark and nightjar but the breeding ravens have come as a total surprise. “
