AIR cadets raised more than £800 for their squadron during the Easter holidays.

The youngsters from the 22 (Sandy) Squadron gave up three days of their break to pack shopping at Iceland in Biggleswade and Budgens in Sandy.

They spent Thursday, April 5 and Good Friday in Iceland and Saturday, April 7 in Budgens. They collected a total of £802.46.

The much need funds will be put to use in provided training and camping equipment for the cadets and ensuring the continued success the squadron has achieved over the last few year.

Adult sergeant, Sinead How, said: “The public are always very supportive of the squadron and it’s been great seeing the cadets helping them in return by packing their shopping.

“We are all very grateful as without their support the squadron would not be able to continue as we are now.”

The cadets thank the two stores and the public for their generosity.
