A MAN was killed when a car overturned close to an A1 slip road near Stotfold on Wednesday (March 28).
The Vauxhall Corsa ended up on its roof after it left the A1 200 metres from the southbound exit slip at Junction 10 at around 1.40pm.
Police closed the A1 southbound between Junction 10 and the Biggleswade south junction for almost four hours while emergency services attended.
Ambulance crews from Letchworth and the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended, along with fire crews from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the incident said: “Land and air ambulance crews worked closely with the fire service but the man was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived.”
