A SECTION of the A1 has re-opened after a man was killed in a collision.
The road was closed southbound between the Biggleswade south junction and Junction 10, close to Stotfold following the collision at around 1.40pm on Wednesday (March 28).
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Police confirmed the fatality after a Vauxhall Corsa left the junction slip road and overturned.
After the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) was alerted an ambulance crew from Letchworth attended, as well as the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the incident said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the man’s family at this tragic time.”
He added: “The man was found in an overturned car adjacent to the carriageway on our arrival.
“Land and air ambulance crews worked closely with the fire service and he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.”
The road had re-opened by 5.30pm on Wednesday.
