Central Beds Council voted in favour of selling up to 20 acres of land to two unnamed businesses who wish to expand on Stratton Business Park at a meeting on Tuesday.
The expansion of these businesses will mean up to 3,500 new jobs for the area dependent on usage.
The council hope that sharing the cost of infrastructure will help accelerate its availability for sale, meaning more jobs arrive sooner.
Councillors at the meeting were in agreement that it was an exciting proposition for the people of Biggleswade and the surrounding areas.
The report into the expansion said: “The provision of new employment space will enable known existing local business to expand and grow in the Biggleswade area, further facilitating the wider regeneration aspirations of the area.”
