A man in his 20s was left trapped inside his car after an accident on the A1 on Sunday.
Doctor Simon Lewis and paramedic Simon Standen of Magpas Helimedix flew to the scene at Biggleswade where a car had collided with a tree.
The incident took place at around 11.40am.
Fire and rescue and ambulance crews managed to get the man safely out of the car. The Helimedix team then anaesthetised him and provided him with intensive, critical A&E care at the roadside, before flying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a serious but stable condition.
