A DEVELOPER will be holding an exhibition to encourage feedback on a new housing project.

Bovis Homes is hoping to build 85 new houses on land east of Ivel Road in Shefford.

The plans could also include facilities for businesses in the town.

The former Mid Bedfordshire District Council allocated the land for residential and mixed use development, and Bovis hopes to build a new neighbourhood at the site.

The two-day exhibition will be held at Shefford House in the High Street and will feature information boards and feedback forms.

Members of the Bovis Homes project team will also be present.

Design manager Dan Oliver said: “This is an opportunity for members of the community to help shape the neighbourhood and give us their thoughts about features like house styles and layouts so we can take these plans forward.

“We can take feedback forms on the day or they can be posted.”

Mr Oliver is confident that the development would benefit the town and provide new jobs.

He said: “We are looking to build a sustainable, high-quality new community with a good mix of homes and amenities, such as a state-of-the-art children’s play area.”

The exhibition will be taking place on Friday (March 9) from 10am to 4.30pm and Saturday (March 10) from 10am to 1pm.
