DISCOVER the countryside around you by taking part in a guided walk.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Greensand Ridge Walk and Sandy Tourist Information Centre has organised a day of celebrations to mark the occasion.
On Sunday, April 22 there will be kiosks about the countryside and rural life in Bedfordshire as well as refreshments from 9.30am in Sandy Car Park.
There will also be guided walks leaving every 15 minutes from 10am onwards. These will take the Sandy parish part of the walk.
The Greensand Ridge Walk is 40 miles long and runs from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay.
Booking for the walks is essential. Call the TIC on 01767 682728.
Also on that day, the TIC will launch a new illustrated leaflet to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee. It will include six new walks around Sandy of varying lengths including a pushchair walk and a town walk.
