Saxon Pool will be running a free water safety workshop for eight to 15-year-olds on Wednesday, August 6.
The sessions will run between 9:30am and noon as well as from 12:30 to 3:30pm.
The leisure centre will teach the children about water safety in pools, rivers and at the seaside.
They will also learn about basic water rescue techniques, allowing you to help someone else without putting yourself in danger, as well as some basic first aid.
Last year alone 227 people lost their lives in lakes, reservoirs or inland waters across the UK.
The aim is to get as many young people as possible knowledgeable about water safety, so that they can help to keep their friends and family safe while they’re out and about during the holidays.
