A FOAL had been found dead in Sutton.
The pony was found by a member of the public on a small track near to Sutton Hill Road on Thursday, February 16.
The body had been wrapped in tarpaulin.
The filly, which was believed to be around 18-months-old, was very thin and her hooves were overgrown.
Witnesses have said that they saw her being dumped out of a transit van the day before.
Now the RSPCA is appealing for information.
RSPCA inspector Cherry Evans, who is investigating the incident, said: “I believe the pony would have already been dead when she was dumped. She was extremely thin, almost skin and bone.
“Someone believes they spotted a transit van in the area the day before the body was found and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident.
“Anyone with information is urged to call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.”
