I am: Ellie Mangold, 26, of Station Road in Langford

Local connections: I am a primary school teacher at St Swithun’s Lower School in Sandy

Event: London 2 Brighton 100km walking challenge. It is on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25. This has been described as an ‘extreme’ challenge, where I walk a total distance of 100km (63 miles). My personal aim is to be able to complete it in around 25 hours, which will be incredibly challenging, with blisters, walking all night and aches and pains but whatever happens I am going to cross that finish line!

Charity: Make a Wish Foundation UK. I chose Make a Wish because I have worked with children for many years, including children who are not as privileged as others. I feel so strongly that all children deserve happiness and the charity aims to grant wishes to children who are terminally ill or have been undergoing treatment. It really does make wishes come true and that to me is what being a child is all about.

Financial target: My initial target was £375. I have now met and exceeded the target and so I would love to meet £600. This would make every step worthwhile!

How are you preparing for the event? Lots of walking training but the most I have done is about 12 miles so this will really test me, especially during the night hours of walking.

How can people support you? People can donate at www.justgiving.com/Ellie-Mangold

Any other interesting information: I decided after lifes ups and downs that life was for living and 2014 is definitely my year for challenge and change. If it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you... So I am going to be a completely different person by May 26!
