Event: We are running the London Marathon on Sunday, April 13 dressed as Batman and Robin
What the event entails: 26.2 miles of running – and, realistically, the occasional change of pace to a walk.
How are you preparing for the event? Running around 30 miles per week, in and around Biggleswade and the nearby towns and villages; some of this in our Batman and Robin disguises!
Charity: Crimestoppers. As a Crimestoppers volunteer (Bernard), I ran the London Marathon two years ago dressed as Batman, raising over £1,500. The support from the crowd was amazing, and really helped me get to the finish. This year my daughter Georgia is joining me dressed as Robin. Give us a shout if you’re in the crowd and see us passing!
Very few people realise that Crimestoppers is a charity. It provides the 0800 555 111 line to provide crime information anonymously. Since Crimestoppers began in 1988 over £126 million worth of stolen goods has been recovered and over £301 million worth of drugs has been seized.
Financial target: £2,500 with over £1,600 raised already
