Could you be part of
Biggleswade’s next carnival royal family?

The clocks have gone forward, which means that the warmer weather is on its way – and with it, Biggleswade Carnival.

The highlight in Biggleswade’s social calendar is set to take place in June, with a host of fun family events.

And the centrepiece of the carnival – the grand parade of floats – will take place on the longest day of the year: Saturday, June 21.

Now the carnival committee is looking to make a right royal appointment by choosing this year’s carnival court!

On Sunday, April 27 royal hopefuls are set to gather at Biggleswade Working Men’s club for the selection event.

As well as taking pride of place at the Biggleswade Carnival procession and representing the town at events during the year, there are a whole host of amazing goodies up for grabs for the winners.

The Carnival Queen must be aged between 12 and 18 years old and live in the local area.

She will win £100 cash, hair and makeup at The Retreat beauty spa, a bouquet of gorgeous flowers from Skipps Florist, a voucher for dressed hair at Maxwells and a Hoopers gift voucher!

But younger would-be royals are not forgotten, with the carnival committee seeking both a prince and princess.

Both must be aged between six and 11 years old and both will win £30 cash and a box of tasty chocolates.

The princess will also win hair and make up at The Retreat beauty spa and a bouquet from Harrisons Florist, while the prince will take home a Maxwells hair voucher and bear from Skipps Florist.

All applicants for the carnival court must fall within the required age groups on carnival parade day to qualify.

If you would like to be in with a chance of being crowned, visit www.biggleswade-carnival.org for an application form.

Alternatively, you can email yswinburn@outlook.com or call 07722 761140 or 01767 317881.

The closing date for entries is Friday, April 25.

Entries can be posted to Biggleswade Carnival Court, c/o 11 Apple Tree Close, Biggleswade, SG18 8NF.

The selection event will take place at Biggleswade Working Mens Club on Church Street in Biggleswade at 2.30pm on Sunday, April 27.
