Thieves have struck a town’s shoppers.
PCSO Gary Kidd of Bedfordshire Police has said that there have been three similar offences in Biggleswade Market Square recently.
An 84-year-old man was approached by male and female offenders.
They engaged him in conversation using a foreign language and during this time they removed his wallet from his coat pocket and took his bank card. £250 was then taken from a nearby cash machine.
In a separate incident an elderly lady had her handbag stolen in Spar. She was unaware it was missing until she returned home.
And in another incident a purse was stolen from an elderly woman in Age UK. She only became aware of this later.
