Youngsters are being inspired by nature while creating their own bird boxes.
The children at Treetops Nursery in Sandy’s Medusa Way are drawing, designing and even building the homes for our feathered friends.
The task has been set by Linden Homes, which is building houses at the new Kestrel Ridge development near Station Road, Sandy.
The company has been inspired by the site’s proximity to the RSPB’s headquarters.
The entries will be displayed at the nursery, with Linden Homes presenting individual prizes for the best bird boxes and a gift to the nursery as a thank you for taking part.
Sonia Harvey, events & PR manager for Treetops Nurseries, said: “We’re really excited to take part in this fun and learning creative challenge and the children are already busy with their designs – as well as the excitement of hearing about new homes being built with diggers and other big machinery.”
Sales manager Warren O’Callaghan said: “As a developer new to the town it is important that we engage with the local community and we are thrilled that the nursery has accepted our birdhouse design challenge.”
