An MP tried his hand at bingo.
Alistair Burt, MP for North East Beds, visited Flutters Bingo in Biggleswade on Friday to support the official launch of the Bingo Association’s Boost Bingo campaign.
The campaign calls on the government to bring the tax on bingo down so it is in line with other popular leisure pursuits. Mr Burt said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Flutters. Manager Mike Ramsden introduced me to his team and customers, and they even let me call a game!
“It was very obvious from chatting to players that people enjoyed each other’s company and a good night out – any winnings were a bit of a bonus.
This is a strong community asset for Biggleswade and the surrounding area, and I will do my best to ensure the government is aware of the importance of the tax issue.”
