Organisers of this summer’s Chilfest concerts in Tring have been blown away by the number of tickets sold after just seven days.

They only went on sale on January 14 but more than 2,000 have already been shifted – 10 per cent of the total number available.

Steve Butcher of Universal Event Productions said: “It was double our expectations, as we know most people haven’t had a pay packet since before Christmas. We’ve been blown away.”

Steve said the two-day ticket – combining both 1980s pop evenings on July 4 and 5 – has proved very popular.

The bill for modern pop night is now complete, after London-based girl band Stooshe and new boy band 5th Story – formed from ITV1 show The Big Reunion – were confirmed for July 6.

The Stooshe trio climbed to number three in the top ten UK chart in summer 2012 with their single Black Heart.

Blazin Squad’s Kenzie, Adam Rickitt, Gareth Gates, Dane Bowers and 1990s Crazy Chance singer Kavana have joined forces and made a comeback as 5th Story.
