Parents have their last chance to comment on plans to expand a school.

Proposals are in place to add an extra 300 places at St Andrew’s Lower School in Biggleswade, expanding to a second site at the Kings Reach development.

Statutory notices outlining the plans from Central Beds Council have been issued after early consultations showed that parents and the wider community are in support.

The proposals are part of the council’s wider New School Places programme which aims to ensure that every child has a place in a school close to where they live.

It is estimated that school numbers in Central Beds could increase by 6,000 over the next five years.

If approved the new site would be an independent and fully-functioning campus for up to 300 pupils aged from four to nine.

It is proposed that the main building would house 10 classrooms, a hall, separate dining room, a kitchen and administrative offices.

There would also be a library and ICT space.
