Six critical care paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) have graduated with masters degrees.
After two years of hard work the group have been awarded the degrees in critical care from Cardiff University.
Critical care paramedic Laurie Phillipson, who attended the graduation ceremony said: “Despite having been a student of the university for over two years this was our first visit to Cardiff.
“It was great to finally meet face-to-face the course tutors that we’d had so much email contact with and the other students with whom we’d studied alongside and mutually supported.”
He added: “Putting on the gown and hat all felt a bit silly but the ceremony marked the end of a period of very intense study and it was nice to be reminded of how far we’ve come.
“It also gave us the opportunity to thank our families for their support.”
Three further paramedics will be completing their critical care courses during the next academic year.
