Aspiring actors and actresses from a theatre school had the chance the perform in a West End production.

Youngsters from the Sandy-based Vision Theatre Arts school performed three different musical numbers at Her Majesty’s Theatre in
London.

The 27 students from Vision – which runs on Saturdays at Sandye Place Academy – were taking part in the theatre’s Sunday Night Live show earlier this month.

The youngsters, all aged from five to 13 danced to Earth, Wind & Fire’s classic Boogie Wonderland and sang and danced to Skid Row from the Little Shop of Horrors.

They also performed a rendition of I Want it All from We Will Rock You, including dance moves.

Emily Thornton – who runs Vision and helped the children and teenagers to rehearse for four months before the show – said everyone was very proud of their performance and dedication.

She said: “We got fantastic feedback from the audience, who were all saying how well the children did.

“It was brilliant that the children ranged from five to 13 yet they all knew exactly what they were doing.”
