A village’s historical group has changed its name and will be welcoming members from further afield.
The former Langford History Society will now be known as the Langford and District History Society following the group’s annual meeting earlier this month.
A spokesman for the organisation said: “While we have no wish to encroach on the areas of other history societies, and especially Biggleswade with which we have friendly relations, we are aware that there are villages near Langford that have no history society and probably nobody to care for their history and heritage.
“We would like to offer a friendly welcome to residents of Clifton, Broom, Henlow and other villages nearby to join us in learning about the history of the area and to enjoy talks and visits in pleasant company.”
The Langford and District History Society is now in its 30th year and has produced several books on the village.
Its next meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 6 at Langford Church Hall in Church Street, starting at 8pm.
