A heroic trio who saved the life of a fellow diver will receive national awards.
Pete Hodkin and his son Dan, from Plum Tree Road in Lower Stondon, will be awarded certificates from the Royal Humane Society alongside their friend, Rod Reeves.
Pete, 52, and Rod will be given Resuscitation Certificates for reviving Gabor Redl in August.
Dan, 27, will receive a Certificate of Commendation.
Dick Wilkinson, the society’s secretary, said: “Were it not for the calm way they acted under extreme pressure and the first aid expertise of these three divers Gabor would likely not have survived.”
The members of Mid Herts Divers were diving in Leicester when they heard alarm calls.
They resuscitated the seemly lifeless diver. When the ambulance arrived he was sitting up and talking.
