Two gold watches and cufflinks were stolen when a house was burgled.

A gold watch with an engraved message on the back was among the items taken from the property in Spring Road, Clifton some time between 9.45am on Sunday, November 4 and 1.30pm on Thursday, November 8.

The Crimestoppers charity is offering a reward of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of the person(s) responsible.

A side window was forced open and the watches – one of which was a retirement gift – were taken along with a jewellery box, a selection of cufflinks and a jar of loose change.

Ann Scott, Crimestoppers eastern regional manager, said: “This burglary has not only robbed the elderly victim of some personal items but it has stopped him feeling safe and secure in his own home.”

Individuals will only qualify for the reward by passing on information anonymously to Crimestoppers through its 0800 555 111 number.
