A television comedian stopped by a farm shop to film the latest episode of his show.
Leigh Francis – aka Keith Lemon – visited Franklins of Thorncote to film scenes for the Christmas special of Lemon La Vida Loca.
He was joined by his co-star, Laura Aikman, who plays his on-screen girlfriend, Rosie Parker.
The spoof reality TV show aired on ITV2 on Tuesday (December 4).
It showed Keith and Rosie choosing their Christmas turkey, looking at the pigs and in the field with the geese.
Filming took place in October and lasted for nine hours.
The farm and farm shop, in Thorncote Green between Hatch and Northill, is run by John and Anna Franklin.
Finance manager Anna said: “John and Jack, our son, had to show them around the farm, particularly the turkeys.
“They went in the back of the mule on a tour of the farm animals and were filmed with the turkeys, pigs and geese.
“Adrian the butcher had his picture taken with them in the shop, as did Helen the farmers’ market manager.”
Franklins of Thorncote was approached by Keith Lemon’s television company.
Anna thought that the farm was probably chosen because it has previously had publicity on The Great British Menu and The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
It has also been featured in several of Rose Princes’ columns in The Telegraph.
Anna added: “We don’t watch Keith Lemon’s programmes but the kids do. John was a bit worried after he agreed to the filming but before they came as he watched Celebrity Juice and was wondering what was going to happen to the turkeys!
“We were pleased with the footage they took at the farm.
“They showed John showing them a turkey and talking about their dangly bits and there was some nice footage of the farm animals.”
After the filming had been completed Leigh and Laura bought some sausages and other items from the shop and posed for lots of pictures with the children and staff.
